ECM hosted yet another successful Community Market Day event on Friday, 1 May 2015, at the central lawn along Street 3. As always, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for residents and members of ECM to socialise in a fun, relaxed atmosphere – with over 2,000 people in attendance.
At 4 o’clock the entertainment began with a variety of stalls selling residents’ per-loved home-ware, jewellery, toys, books, art and electrical goods. From old clothing, household knickknacks, CDs and DVDs to garden tools, sports equipment, board games and baby items, there was something for everyone. A joyful atmosphere reigned until late evening as toddlers jumped on the bouncy castles, while others enjoyed the magic and unicyclist show.
Sumptuous treats were provided at the event, from continental food catered by The Address Hotel to Indian eats such as bhel puri, sev puri and mouthwatering shawarma sandwiches. Children also were treated to lip-smacking candy floss on sticks. All in all, it was a truly memorable event for all those who attended.
